We have now heard that the Defence Select Committee have called a special hearing for the 23rd April to discuss the issue of the proposed closure of the GE Rugby manufacturing facility.
This is St. Georges Day, and could well be a good omen for us as we seek to slay this particular dragon of closure. Employees have been asked to give evidence and informed sources tell us that the Select Committee will be writing to the Power Conversion CEO Azeez Mohammed to present himself to face questions.
This is a public hearing ,which will be televised, and any interested parties can attend in the public seating area. As one of the most important select committees with senior M.P.s from all parties it is expected the hearing will be held in the Palace of Westminster itself.
